According to data from the China Textile Industry Federation, from 2013 to 2022, China's total fiber processing volume increased from 48.5 million tons to more than 60 million tons, accounting for more than 50% of the world's total fiber processing. From 2020 to 2022, China's total textile and garment exports will remain above US3300 billion for three consecutive years, contributing more than 50% to the growth of the world's total textile and garment exports.
In addition, China's textile industry has also actively integrated into the construction of the “Belt and Road”.In the past ten years, China's textile industry has directly invested US66 billion in countries that jointly build the “Belt and Road”, accounting for about 50% of the industry's global investment.
Sun Ruizhe pointed out that China's textile industry is focusing on the transformation and development of science and technology, fashion, and green, and has entered the coexistence stage of “following, running in parallel, and leading”, with deep integration of digital technology and advanced manufacturing. At the same time, the industry has achieved remarkable results in low-carbon transformation, pollution prevention and control, comprehensive utilization of resources, and the construction of a green manufacturing system. In 2022, China's production of recycled chemical fiber will exceed 5 million tons.
At the same time, the pace of internationalization of Chinese textile brands and enterprise intensification is also accelerating, forming 100 billion-level industrial clusters with world influence such as Keqiao, Shengze, Changshu, Humen, Haining, etc., and a large number of new “little giants” and invisible champion companies have emerged in the industry.
